Highway 40 is a spectacular route leading you to Alberta's South. Open from June 15 - November 30, Highway 40 leads through the jagged peaks of Kananaskis Country and reaches the summit of the Highwood Pass, Canada's highest road at 2206.3m (7239 feet). Highway 40 travels 105 km (63 miles) from the Trans-Canada Highway before connecting with Hwy. 541, leading to Longview on Hwy. 22, south of Calgary.
