The Wates-Gibson hut gives access to excellent hiking and ski touring terrain in the Eremite and Tonquin Valleys, and outstanding alpine climbing on the solid quartzite peaks in the Rampart range. The access is relatively straight forward, but fairly long (19 km in summer, 30 km in winter). Capacities: summer 30, winter 24.
